Who it is for
The deal is quick.
The proof should last.
Private sellers
As-is, in writing.
Hand over the keys with a signed PDF in your pocket.
Private buyers
The clerk will ask for this.
Both names, the real price, the odometer. The counter stops being a problem.
Repeat sellers
Twenty sales, one ledger.
Every sale in one list, with a running total.
Everything else
Not everything has a VIN.
Mowers, jet skis, trailers. Same document, no VIN needed.
1sheet
The PDF sizes itself to the largest comfortable type that still fits US Letter, and it will run to a second page before it separates a signature from the terms it sits under.
49 CFR580
Federal odometer disclosure is written in automatically wherever it applies — model year 2011 and newer, until the vehicle turns twenty. You do not have to know the rule.
51jurisdictions
Notary and filing rules for every state and the District of Columbia, read from each one's own motor vehicle authority with the source named — not from a summary of a summary.
Four chapters
A sale has an order to it.
So does the app.
The instrument
What actually comes out
The preview on your phone and the PDF that prints are composed from the same code at 612 × 792 points — US Letter in PDF units. What you look at cannot drift from what you hand over.
Title and jurisdiction
Named for what it is and the state it's executed under, because that's the first thing a counter clerk looks for.
Operative clause
The sentence that does the work: consideration, acknowledgement of receipt, and the transfer itself.
Property and parties
Item details, then seller and buyer with full addresses. Vehicles carry VIN, plate, body style and colour.
Federal odometer disclosure
The 49 CFR 580 block, with its actual-mileage checkboxes, printed only on the vehicles that legally need it.
Signatures, then the notary block
Both parties, dated. The notary block prints only in the states that require one — not as decoration everywhere else.
Terms, state requirements, disclaimer
As-is language, what that state expects next, and a plain statement that this is a document between two people and not legal advice.

Odometer disclosure — required by federal law
Federal and state law require that you state the mileage upon transfer of ownership. Failure to complete or providing a false statement may result in fines and/or imprisonment.
61,204 miles, exclusive of tenths.
Seller · Jackson Lee
Buyer · John Adams
The property is sold AS IS, WHERE IS, with all faults and without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. California does not require a bill of sale to be notarised; the seller's Notice of Transfer and Release of Liability should be filed with the DMV within five days. QiK B.O.S is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice.
In the app
Built like a filing cabinet,
not a form generator
The Vault
Your documents as a deck of paper you can flick through, with what's executed and what's still waiting on a signature separated out.
The Ledger
Every sale in one list — parties, price, status — filterable by vehicle or general item, with a running total of what you've transacted.
Finger signatures
Both parties sign on the screen. Signatures are stored separately from the document, so a re-print is never a photocopy of a photocopy.
State requirements
What your state expects — notary, form numbers, filing deadlines — checked against that state's own publication, with the source named.
Works with no signal
Draft and sign in a driveway with one bar. It writes locally and syncs the moment you're back on — signature uploads retry on their own.
One-sheet PDF
Print it, text it, email it. Sized for legibility first and laid out so signatures never end up orphaned on a second page.
Your account, your data
No tracking, no analytics SDKs, no advertising identifier. The only data collected is what appears on the document itself.
Delete means delete
One tap in Account erases the account, every document and every signature — from storage and from the database, not just from view.
Jurisdictions
Where a notary is
actually required
Most sites flatten this. In nearly every state that "requires notarization," the requirement attaches to the title, not to the bill of sale.
Louisiana is the exception that matters. It is the one state where the requirement attaches to the bill of sale itself — an original notarised bill of sale stating the actual consideration, on top of the title being assigned before a notary. In the other six, what needs a notary is the title.
Requirements move. Maryland's notarised bill of sale is repealed on 1 October 2026, and the app already knows the date — it answers differently either side of it. Every profile carries the publication it was read from and the date it was checked.

Questions
Before you buy
Is a bill of sale enough to transfer a vehicle?
On its own, usually not. In most states the title assignment is what actually transfers ownership, and the bill of sale is the record of the transaction that sits alongside it. Louisiana is the standout exception, where an original notarised bill of sale stating the actual consideration is required in its own right. The app tells you which situation you're in for every state and the District of Columbia, and names the publication it read.
Do I need a notary?
It depends on the state, and more often than people think the answer is "for the title, not for this document." Arizona and Washington let a state office witness the signing instead of a notary. Kentucky, North Carolina and Pennsylvania want the title signed before one. The app prints a notary block only where a notary is genuinely part of the transaction.
What's the difference between the two prices?
One Filing is $4.99, charged once, and covers a single complete document. Monthly is $11.99 and covers unlimited documents for 30 days — it is the only option that renews, and it keeps renewing until you cancel. At three or more documents a month the monthly plan is cheaper. Both are bought in the app through the App Store — you can create your account on this site, but nothing is charged here.
What happens to my documents if I cancel?
They stay. Cancelling stops the renewal; it doesn't reach back and take away paperwork you've already executed. Everything in your Vault and Ledger remains readable and printable.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet. QiK B.O.S is an iPhone app, iOS 17 and up, portrait only. It was built for the phone that's actually in your hand in a driveway, and adding another platform properly is real work rather than a checkbox.
Does it work without signal?
Yes. You can draft and sign with no connection at all — the document is written locally and syncs when you're back on, and a signature upload that didn't make it retries on its own.
Is this legal advice?
No. QiK B.O.S is not a law firm. It produces a document from what you enter — it doesn't review your transaction, verify a VIN, confirm an odometer reading, or check that a seller owns what they're selling. Every state's requirements have been read from that state's own motor vehicle authority and the app names the source — but requirements change, so check with your DMV before you rely on one.
What do you collect about me?
What appears on a bill of sale — the parties' names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses, the item, the price and the signatures — plus your account details. No tracking, no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, no advertising identifier. Deleting your account erases all of it.
